The Macau Autosports Club was established in 1985 as a non-profit making organization, its charter published in the Government Gazette No. 16 on 20th April 1985. Today, we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Club on the promotion of automobile-sport in the territory. Over the long years, many friends of the sport had dedicated much valuable time to promote and develop the various automobile sport items through thick and thin. There were rejoicing moment over the realization of a long-held dream, gratifying moment at seeing ambition achieved, but also agonizing moments over the many attempts to search for a venue, for the extension use of the venue and for a permanent venue. Given the physical circumstances here where land is scarce, not to mention an open clear site, it really is difficult to come up with a site that meets the requirements for the intended purpose. Needless to say, the site must have basic safety facilities which are vital to the automobile sport.
Commendable are the fellows who have unselfishly made contribution. They are also the founding members of the Macau Autosports Club. In 1985 they formed a provisional working committee to carry out all the duties of a director, including the preparatory work for the election of the first membership of the organization. They were Ana Maria Silva Goncalves, Joaquim Antonio Gomes Monteiro, Joao Antonio Lopes Matos da Silva, Mario Ferreira Sin, Isaias Jose Couto do Rosario, Vong Tak King and Belmiro de Jesus Aguiar.
